The Rams injury list grew by one on Thursday, as cornerback Justin King missed practice after injuring his shoulder earlier in the week. King apparently hurt the shoulder during practice on Wednesday, and he woke up with soreness Thursday. I don’t know the extent of the injury, but he is being called day-to-day so it shouldn’t be extremely serious. Also on the DNP list Thursday were Sam Bradford, AJ Feeley, James Hall, Chris Long and Mark LeVoir. No change on any of those guys, and it still seems highly likely that Bradford misses Sunday. For what it’s worth, Spags said he expects Long to play Sunday, which I think we all expected anyway.

In other bad injury news the team placed Brit Miller on IR, ending his 2011 season. Miller apparently suffered a knee injury during Monday’s game, and he tried to practice but was unable to go earlier this week. Spags said the team will likely use their tight ends in more blocking situations with Miller out, but the team could bring in a fullback at some point before the season is out.

The team did get some good news, as Craig Dahl, Eugene Sims, Stephen Spach and Josh Gordy all returned to practice in limited fashion. Fred Robbins and Quinn Porter were also limited participants.

Bad news from Rams Park on Wednesday, as quarterback Sam Bradford was back in a walking boot and is expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Bengals after a setback with his ankle injury. Assuming Bradford is out, it looks like recent addition Kellen Clemens will get the start.

There’s no question that this is disappointing, but honestly I think I prefer Bradford sitting out if the ankle is not in good shape. The Rams aren’t playing for anything other than pride, and there’s no reason to risk serious injury that could affect next season. Bradford is too important to this franchise to have him completely blow out a knee or something because he can’t move in the pocket. We all want to see him play, but the right move is to sit right now, especially considering the team is on a short week after the Monday night game.

The rest of the list of inactives is long, but that doesn’t mean all of these guys will be unavailable Sunday. The list includes Craig Dahl, A.J. Feeley, Josh Gordy, James Hall, Mark LeVoir, Chris Long, Eugene Sims, and Stephen Spach. Feeley is expected to be out, and Chris Long is still very sore. I expect Long to play as he has the last few weeks, but it sounds like the ankle is becoming a problem.

I think we have all started to get over Monday’s tragedy in Seattle, and as unfortunate as it feels sometimes, we still have to look forward to the next game this weekend. The good news is that the Rams got out of Monday relatively unscathed on the injury front. Sam Bradford and Chris Long both made it through without further injuring their respective ankles, but both were extremely sore on Tuesday. As has been the case over the last few weeks, the team is going to monitor both players throughout the week and determine when they will get back on the practice field. Brit Miller is apparently not progressing, and it sounds like the team might make a move to place him on IR if things don’t get better.

As far as injuries suffered in the game, TE Stephen Spach is probably the most serious with a head injury, and he will be treated for a concussion this week. Mark LeVoir suffered a groin injury, and his status is up in the air for practice right now. LeVoir just can’t catch a break on the injury front, but let’s hope this thing turns out to be minor.

There are four players who are being listed as day-to-day, and they are Josh Gordy, Craig Dahl, James Hall and AJ Feeley. Dahl’s is an ankle, so we will have to see where he’s at throughout the week. Gordy has an oblique strain and Hall has a pec issue, and we all know about Feeley. Also, Quinn Porter and Fred Robbins are expected to be back this week.
