The Rams are still prepping for the San Diego Chargers this week, and it looks like Danario Alexander is getting more work with the offense and special teams. Alexander reportedly took some first-team snaps today at practice, and offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur said he is confident in Alexander’s knowledge of the offense. I’m still not expecting too much from him this weekend, but it’s starting to sound like the team might use him in a greater capacity than originally expected.

In some pop culture news, it appears Rams kicker Josh Brown has a cameo appearance in the upcoming Jackass 3D movie. I don’t know exactly what his role is, but I think it might be worth watching.

Injury Notes: Illini Mike was full-go again today, and it looks like he should be 100 percent come Sunday. With Mark Clayton done, the Rams are going to need some weapons to step up if they want to move the ball. After watching Mike in the preseason, I really think he has the potential to develop into a safety blanket for Sam Bradford. At any rate, it will be good to see him out there.

The game Sunday will be televised locally after the team sold out today, so if you can’t make it over to the Dome, tune in to KMOV channel 4 for the new start.

Well, the St. Louis Rams are 0-6, their worst start since the 1960s. The team has had a lot of problems, no doubt but let’s analyze what the problems were on Sunday that led them to defeat for the sixth straight time.

1.) Our quarterback isn’t really good.
Yes, this is somewhat of an understatement, considering just how bad Gus Frerotte did yesterday afternoon. He threw five interceptions in this game, and zero touchdowns. It was the second time, naturally, that the Rams haven’t had a touchdown in a game all season. Let’s just thank god Marc Bulger says he’ll play in this week’s game against the struggling Seahawks.

2.) Our rushing game isn’t really good.
Brian Leonard did start the game, but he only had 18 yards on 12 carries. Plus, the rest of the guys did almost worse as our rushing game only amounted to 67 total yards in this game. Let’s just thank god Steven Jackson is expected to play in this week’s game.

3.) Injuries affect a team’s play.
Yes, it’s very true. Even though the guys on the field aren’t the ones that got injured, the whole team is affected when guys go down. It is hard for an offense to deal with the kind of injuries this offense has had this year. The offensive line was torn apart, our number two receiver along with our starting quarterback and running back both missed considerable time. It’s not going to be easy to play with consistent effort each week when key elements to the team’s success in the past are out.

However, the good thing that comes out of this game is that we lived up to expectations. No one expected the Rams to win this game. The other piece of news worth noting here is that our Rams are still in the race. Yes, amazing as it may sound, an 0-6 team with a division opponent in the next week has a chance to jump right back into it.

With the game against the Seahawks as the number one concern right now, the Rams can be 1.5 games out of first place with a win on Sunday at Quest field in Seattle. We played very well there last year, only losing by two points in each of the two games we played against them last year. Yes, they were very tough games, and we realize how important it is that we win those division games.

For now, let’s look at the task ahead. More news on the status of Bulger and Jackson later in the week.

Also check out our sister site, RAMblings, as Brett Knight does a great job of updating Rams fans throughout the week.

This Sunday afternoon, the Rams will continue their season long losing streak in Baltimore. Oops, looks like I gave the prediction a little too early this week. Well, does it really matter at this point? Yep, didn’t think so.

*Offense- Well, both of these offenses are weak right now. The thing that really gets to me is that the Ravens had 0ver 300 total yards on offense last week and they scored nine points. There were no turnovers either. Now, unless you were watching the game why wouldn’t you say to yourself: I think there’s something wrong with NFL.com? Anyway, the offense is led by running back Willis McGahee, who is currently third in the NFL in rushing. Steve McNair has been acceptable at the quarterback position, but the guy is simply old. The Ravens don’t have much at the receiving end of the offense so the Rams will have an easy goal: stop the run. Although, Baltimore proved to use the pass a lot more last week so expect anything. St. Louis is back on the Gus bus this week with Gus Frerotte making his second consecutive start at quarterback. He had nearly 300 yards passing and the Rams were able to get 100 yards from Brian Leonard and only 18 carries. However, none of that counts this week as the Rams face a defense on a whole other level than Arizona. Plus, Isaac Bruce is out this week and Drew Bennett will be back in his place. Still no word on Torry Holt’s status but Marques Hagans will start as Dane Looker is out for a while. No big offensive line changes this week as the team still starting a different line for the sixth straight week of the season. Still, no injuries there. EDGE: Ravens

*Defense- The Baltimore Ravens are set right now on defense. They are in the top five in both passing yards allowed and rushing yards allowed. Well, the Rams will have some problems getting passed that. No, ya think? Other then that, there isn’t much to report for the Ravens other then that end Trevor Pryce is out for this game. Cornerback Samari Rolle is expected to return from a three week absence and the Rams need to watch out for what he may have to offer. Otherwise, the Ravens are listed as the first team on the NFL.com list of teams. And after this game, trust me, it won’t change. The Rams right now are looking better on defense as Tye Hill is expected to come back this week after missing a couple of weeks. He is listed as probable right now on ESPN.com. The only other problem right now for the Rams is strong safety Corey Chavous is questionable for this game. Other then that, St. Louis will be ready to go on defense. Hopefully, we can make this the strong point of the game for us and use it to our advantage. EDGE: Ravens

Keys to the Game: Rams

1. Try to weather the storm on offense and use the run and the pass in moderation for this game. Don’t try to do to much.

Ravens

1. Do your thing, just do what you can do and what you are capable of doing. The defense can demolish the Rams offense, and that’s what they need to do.

Prediction: Ravens 24 Rams 10
