For those who were anxious to see the Rams offense this preseason, you were likely disappointed. Head coach Sean McVay kept the likes of quarterback Jared Goff, running back Todd Gurley, and receivers like Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks on the sidelines.

That all changes against the Raiders on Monday night.

One thing we already know is that the Rams offense will go through and prominently feature Gurley, who is one season removed from his OPOY award.

Then there is what we’ve only seen on the practice field to date, and that is the new tandem of Goff and Cooks. Certainly they’ve generated a lot of buzz, but let’s not kid each other, it’s practice. With McVay keeping his offense out of preseason games, timing may be an issue, but if the reality lives up to the hype, it could be the one element that eluded the Rams in 2017 in a big home run type of threat.

Goff is the other factor, specifically in what kind of tangible growth he’s had from last season to this one. While Gurley is “the guy” it’ll be the Rams third year quarterback who could take them to the next level, so long as he’s moving to the next level too.

One last thing to consider is the offensive line. As good as LA is projected to be, its thin where depth is concerned. The line is old and could be an Achilles heel for a team who has only Super Bowl aspirations.
