Week 8 will offer an opportunity for both the 49ers and the Cardinals to score only their second win of the season, problem is that at games end, only one can get that victory.

Yes, Sunday will be the rematch from Week 5 when Arizona went on the road and beat San Francisco 28-18. Since, both have continued to lose games. The Cardinals have lost their last two contests while the 49ers have lost their last five.

So who wins?
Who knows.

Both teams are likely going nowhere fast. Rookie quarterback Josh Rosen is playing like a rookie especially coming off of a disastrous 45-10 loss at home to the Denver Broncos.

Perennial backup C.J. Beathard was harassed all day by a Rams defense featuring Aaron Donald as he led his team to another loss on Sunday 39-10 at home to Los Angeles.

Either way, 2018 may be something of an anomaly as their respective quarterback positions are anchored by a first year guy in Arizona and clipboard holder in San Francisco.

In Week 8 that’s just how it is for both cellar-dwellers, as one team will fight to get out of last place for at least one week, and the other will go back to the drawing board to start the second half of the season.
