On a day where quarterback play looked to be at a premium, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff stepped up to the plate and kept his team in it until they salted away the win late in the fourth quarter.

Goff had a good day by any measure, completing 35 passes on 19 attempts for 295 yards and three touchdowns. He was at the helm of a 10 point deficit and helped lead the Rams back to a win that ensured an undefeated 8-0 record and also a showdown at one of the two best teams in the conference, as they head to New Orleans to play the Saints in Week 9.

Give Goff credit as it’s deserved. The Packers brought all manner of pressure on Sunday afternoon, and the third year quarterback answered the bell for all four quarters. His touchdown passes to Gurley for one and Josh Reynolds for two more underscores his steady hand on a Sunday where a win was in doubt.

Also worth mentioning is the parallel performance to the Hall of Famer in Rodgers.

The Green Bay quarterback was 18 of 30 for 286 yards with one touchdown. Neither Goff or Rodgers threw an interception.

The showdown between a premier NFC quarterback and an up-and-comer delivered on a lot of levels, meaning Week 9 could be a replay or even better.

Rams quarterback play-A plus.
