Week 9 had the Los Angeles Rams travel to their first big road test of the 2018 season. It also had them absorb their first loss, a 45-35 defeat at the hands of Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. The game exposed a lot about LA, and showed that an 8-0 record was heavy on great offense, and could be significantly hampered by a defense that is simply not very good.

Fans can scoff all they want. But when one of your big ticket items, specifically cornerback Marcus Peters is better on paper than on the field, the Rams have a problem.

And it’s not going away.

The Saints did two things in Week 9: they established that the NFC title likely rolls through New Orleans, and that Brees, is the MVP quickly emerging as the favorite over both Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Rams running back Todd Gurley.

It also showed that Los Angeles can be beat, AND can come back.

Don’t forget, the Rams got down and came back big to not just make it a game, but be in position to win it.

Week 9 showed a lot about the 2018 Los Angeles Rams. It showed they could be beaten, that defense is an Achilles heel, and that they have the offensive firepower to come back, and come back quick.
