1. Top seed in NFC now a long shot

What was the craziest part about Sunday night? Well, the New Orleans Saints may be the biggest winners from the final game of Week 15, and the best part is they didn’t even have to play since their game against the Carolina Panthers will take place Monday night.

As great as it would be to earn a first-round bye in the playoffs, Los Angeles has learned the importance of earning home-field advantage throughout the postseason thanks to tough losses on the road to New Orleans and Chicago.

The Rams should be able to hold off the Bears when it comes to the No. 2 seed since they’re still hanging on to a full-game lead, but the No. 1 seed in the NFC is a different story.

Los Angeles was already at a disadvantage to New Orleans as a result of the head-to-head tiebreaker from earlier in the season, but Sunday’s loss to Philadelphia put them in an even tougher spot.

Now that the Saints have an opportunity to earn a full-game lead over the Rams in the battle for the top spot in the NFC if they defeat the Carolina Panthers, it’s safe to assume McVay’s squad will be fighting for the No. 2 seed over these final two weeks.

No disrespect to Los Angeles, but when seeing the great position New Orleans now finds themselves in, don’t expect them to ruin the opportunity during this final stretch to the regular season.
