3. Goff, Rams had extra time to prepare for playoffs

No one needs to convince any football fan just how much of an advantage teams can have in the playoffs when they are fortunate enough to earn a first-round bye, especially from a rest perspective.

For most of the season, Los Angeles was in great position to earn the top seed in the NFC, and even though that wound up going to the New Orleans Saints, the No. 2 seed is still pretty valuable.

Between the extra time off along with playing the Cowboys at home in front of their own fans instead of Dallas, Goff and the Rams will look to use this to their complete advantage on Saturday night.

Plus, when looking at the high praise Sean McVay has received over the last two years for being an absolute genius preparing for opponents, it will be interesting to see how all this turns out with him having two weeks to prepare for the Cowboys.

Some will try to make the argument that the extra time off will actually hurt the Rams from a momentum standpoint. But all things considered, this shouldn’t be that much of an issue for Goff and the rest of his teammates since McVay will have them prepared to handle it all.
