Jimmie Ward

Isn’t it amazing how many great safeties could be available in free agency during March just from the NFC West alone?

Whether it happens in free agency or the draft, the Rams should feel confident in their chances to fill their need at the safety position when looking at all of the options expected to be available. But if they were really interested in landing someone from the NFC West, Jimmie Ward seems worth keeping an eye on.

Ward has previously indicated he would love to remain in San Francisco if given the opportunity, but also that’s always easier said than done since after his last contract, the next one could be quite hefty.

Then again, after all of the injuries Ward has unfortunately dealt with over the last two seasons, this could prevent some teams from wanting to reward him with the kind of contract he will be looking for, which could work to the advantage of the Rams if interested.

Knowing the Rams and their recent history of willing to take chances on players no matter what the circumstances, Ward shouldn’t be ruled out if they strongly believe he could be another piece to help build another potential run to play in the Super Bowl next February.
