2. Jordan Hicks

Whether he wants to hear it or not, teams expressing interest in Jordan Hicks for the 2019 season will most likely be concerned over his ability to stay healthy since it’s been a problem at times during the last four years with the Eagles.

When healthy, Hicks has proven to be quite the effective linebacker, and Philadelphia’s defense has certainly benefitted from having him as part of the roster, but depending on what kind of money he will be seeking is what could be the trickiest factor in free agency.

Like most teams, the Eagles don’ want to overpay for a linebacker who is going to struggle to stay healthy, and while the Rams may end up with the same concerns, they could be more willing to take the risk.

Around this time last year, linebacker was one of the major concerns surrounding Los Angeles heading into the 2018 season. And while it was great to see Dante Fowler Jr. make the impact that he did following the trade from the Jacksonville Jaguars, the former first-round pick could be hitting free agency as well.

Instead of focusing on the injury concerns, the Rams will hopefully view Hicks as a linebacker who fought back to appear in 12 games during the 2018 season, and managed to record three sacks in the process.

These numbers may not stand out like some of the other players at his position entering free agency, but don’t be surprised if Hicks earns consideration for being one of the most underrated linebackers to hit the open market.
