24. Oakland Raiders: Nasir Adderley, Safety, Delaware

As previously mentioned, one of the few positive factors surrounding the Oakland Raiders from the 2018 season was how the team managed to earn two extra first-round picks, although it was quite costly since they had to trade both Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper in the process.

Still, the great thing about earning three picks in the first round means the Raiders can fill numerous needs right away. And even though Oakland focused on defense with the No. 4 pick in this mock draft, there’s nothing wrong with adding another defender two picks in a row if they can help address a need at safety.

Taking players from a smaller school like Delaware this early in the draft can seem risky, but also this shows just how great of a football player Nasir Adderley really is.

Adderley has the kind of competitive mindset that makes it seem like he’s going to develop into quite the productive safety at the NFL level, even if it takes a little extra time.

Also, if Adderley were to end up on a team like the Raiders, there’s a good chance he would be able to earn plenty of playing time as a rookie since this is a team clearly going through rebuilding mode.
