31. Los Angeles Rams: Te’von Coney, Linebacker, Notre Dame

Even a talented team like the Los Angeles Rams has a few areas in need of improvement, and as great as it was to watch the defense step up in a big way during the postseason after all of their inconsistent play from the regular season, they could still use some help.

While early signs point to the Rams giving their cornerback duo consisting of Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib another go for the 2019 season since it seems foolish to give up after only one year, linebacker seems like their best shot early on in the draft if they decide to focus on defense.

Sure, the offensive line may become their top priority if Andrew Whitworth or Rodger Saffold are no longer around, but assuming Los Angeles figures out a way to make sure both players are back, linebacker only seems fair for this pick.

Believe it or not, linebacker was an area of weakness for the Rams around this time last year, and even if Dante Fowler Jr. returns after the former first-round pick turned out to be a great fit following the trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Te’von Coney is still worth monitoring.

The Notre Dame product may need to work on his pass-rushing abilities, but with Wade Phillips being one of the best at what he does, Coney could easily work on this weakness if he were to join Los Angeles.
