Threatened by 3, facing just 1

At various points in the season, due to injuries, the committee of three was reduced to a committee of one, as Henderson took over most of the carries early in the year when Brown went down.  And at the end of the season there was only Akers to carry the load.

Henderson rushed 138 times for and respectable 624 yards and five touchdowns and caught 16 passes for 159 yards and another score through 15 games during the 2020 regular season.

Brown finished with 101 rushes for 419 yards and five TDs, but he’s also  a free agent now and rookie Akers appears likely to be the featured back. Henderson will be counted upon heavily to be involved and spell Akers.

The need exists for a bruiser, run-between the tackles-back to replace Brown’s contributions. Ex-Raven Mark Ingram is available on the free agent market and he can still play. Ingram would certainly fill that void nicely.

More than just a replacement for Brown, however, Ingram can also serve as a valuable mentor to Akers, sharing the wisdom and insight gleaned from his experience as a veteran workhorse running back in the league. But perhaps he would be just as instrumental to Henderson. Ingram made a career of a rotational role. Henderson must learn how to find that same niche.
