NFC contracts continued

Now let’s turn our attention to some other coaches, this time towards the head coaches who lead their teams to the north and east.  Of course, the bang-for-the-buck aspect is up for interpretation, but it appears that the NFL has plenty of room to debate the cost-value return on head coach salaries.

NFC North

Green Bay Packers    13-3               Matt LeFleur,  $5 million
Chicago Bears               8-8               Matt Nagy,       $6 million
Minnesota Vikings       7-9               Mike Zimmer,  $4 million
Detroit Lions                  5-11            Dan Campbell, $5 million

Matt LaFleur, Green Bay Packers, $5 million: Two consecutive years in the NFC championship game.

Matt Nagy, Chicago Bears: In 2018, Nagy signed a five-year contract with Chicago Bears. Financial details have never been disclosed but generally pegged at $6 million per. Hia seat is already hot heading into the upcoming season.

Mike Zimmer, Minnesota Vikings, $4 million: Head coach of the Vikings since 2014. made the playoffs three times, but that seat might be getting warm.

Dan Campbell, Detroit Lions: The ex-TE coach of the Saints, his contract details are estimated for a minimum of $30 million for 6 years, but it could be significantly higher.

NFC East

Dallas Cowboys            6-10                 Mike McCarthy, $4 million
Philadelphia Eagles     4-11-1             Nick Sirianni,  $6-7 million

Ron Rivera, Washington Football Team, $7 million: Super Bowl appearance with the Panthers. Took the WFT to the playoffs in his first season, while undergoing cancer chemotherapy treatment.

Joe Judge, New York Giants,  $5 million: Got off to a rocky start in his first NFL season with the team losing its first five games, then went 6-5 down the stretch.

Mike McCarthy, Dallas Cowboys, $4 million: First year with the Cowboys after 18 seasons as Packers’ coach.

Nick Sirianni, Philadelphia Eagles: Per an NFL source, Sirianni’s salary is estimated in the $6-7 million range, with incentives that could drive it up to $10 million
