LA Rams 2021 schedule: Rams rapid review and reveal
By Bret Stuter
November 2021
Week 9: Nov. 7 – Hosting Tennessee Titans (11-5) (SNF), 5:20 pm PT
Week 10: Nov 15 – At San Francisco 49ers (6-10) (MNF), 5:15 pm PT
Week 11 – BYE week
Week 12: Nov. 28 – At Green Bay Packers (13-3), 1:25 pm PT
The LA Rams will cross the finish line to their well-timed BYE week. So well placed is it that it allows the team to recover fully from an extremely important Monday Night Football contest against the rival San Francisco 49ers, and before the LA Rams pack their long underwear to face what will likely be the truly frozen tundra of Lambeau field after Thanksgiving.
Los Angeles Rams
Toughest Game? All three November games qualify, but the post-Thanksgiving day contest at wintry Lambeau to face the Packers has ‘holy snowballs’ written all over it.
Easiest Game? Well, the Rams face the Titans at home and could do so with a small bit of positive momentum from the end of October’s schedule.
December 2021
Week 13: Dec. 5 – Hosting Jacksonville Jaguars (1-15), 1:25 pm PT
Week 14: Dec. 13 – At Arizona Cardinals (8-8) (MNF), 5:15 pm PT
Week 15: Dec. 19 – Hosting Seattle Seahawks (12-4), 1:25 pm PT
Week 16: Dec. 26– At Minnesota Vikings (7-9), 10:00 am PT
December is such a fun month. It stands wedged between the festive holidays of Thanksgiving Day feasting and New Year’s Eve drinking and merriment. It even holds Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, and Las Posadas. But will it hold success for the LA Rams? Well, after a bearish November, December brings opponents with a combined 28-36 record. Will this give the Rams a well-needed breather before the Rams dive into 2022 for the final two games and come-what-may in the NFL Playoffs
Toughest Game? The Rams will return home from a Monday Night Football contest with the Arizona Cardinals to host the Seattle Seahawks on a short week. The Seattle Seahawks may have the added incentive of fighting for a playoff spot or to play well for a retiring head coach Pete Carroll, or both.
Easiest Game? Well, the Jacksonville Jaguars appear ripe for a loss. Yes, the Rams lost a similar game to the winless New York Jets in 2020. But these are the Jaguars, and the Rams have Matthew Stafford under center now.
January 2022
Week 17: Jan. 2 – At Baltimore Ravens (11-5), 1:25 pm PT
Week 18: Jan 9 – Hosting San Francisco 49ers (6-10), 1:25 pm PT
The final two games are nestled like Easter Eggs in 2020. What will the Rams find in 2022? Well, if everything goes according to plan, the LA Rams will be playing their best football by the time January 2022 rolls around. How will that translate onto the football field? I suppose that depends upon the eyes of the beholder. To some, there are no good losses. But to others, a now 17 game NFL schedule comes with a handful of losses expected. Those folks won’t sweat the small stuff. The Rams will certainly have a solid handle on the team, the coaches, and the playbook.
Toughest Game? Traveling to Baltimore Maryland in early January brings the risks of all of winter’s worst as well. Snow, sleet, freezing winds, bitter cold, howling winds. Yes, I’m quite versed in the winter storm known as Nor’easters, which is the winter equivalent of a mild hurricane. With any luck, the Rams will only face a motivated Ravens team. But if the weather is not agreeable? This one will go down in the NFL record books.
Easiest Game? Well, assuming that the Rams get in and out of Baltimore unscathed, the home game against the 49ers wins this one by default. Yes, I know that the Rams have continued to struggle against the 49ers, but I don’t expect Matthew Stafford to experience a Jared Goff meltdown in this one. The Rams want this one more, and I think the personnel changes deliver it.
The 2021 NFL season will end at SoFi Stadium, where it began. Is that some harbinger or foreshadow of the Rams competing at SoFi Stadium in Super Bowl LVI? If you are looking for a sign, that could be your first.
