The LA Rams offense emerged from halftime and took possession from the start of the second half. But after the LA Rams advanced the football to the Baltimore Ravens 11-yard line, Raven linebacker Tyus Bowser was able to sack Matthew Stafford at the Ravens 20-yard line and, in the process, strip the football from him. The Ravens recovered the ball and advanced the football far enough to allow kicker Justin Tucker to boot his third successful field goal of the game.

Down by a score of 16-7 with time running out of the third quarter, the Ravens punted the football to the LA Rams 27-yard line. This time, punt returner Brandon Powell caught the ball cleanly, looked ahead, and then dashed with the football to the 45-yard line.

Offense takes over

Once more, the LA Rams offense took over with positive momentum on their side. Taking over with a nine-point deficit at the 45-yard line is a much better spot to be in than from the 27-yard line. The offense opened with an 11-yard burst from RB Sony Michel. The Rams’ next play was a completion to tight end Tyler Higbee for eight yards to end the third quarter.

The fourth quarter opened with a four-yard run by Michel to move the chains. With the ball on the Ravens’ 32-yard line, Stafford connected with wide receiver Ben Skowronek for three yards. On the very next play, Stafford connected with Kupp for 21 yards and another first down. With a first-and-goal at the eight-yard line, the Rams handed off to RB Sony Michel for a seven-yard gain. The offense repeated the plan a second time, and the Rams had scored their second touchdown of the game.   Rams 14 Ravens 16.

But the LA Rams were not done just yet. They had time remaining, and they were within two points.
