Every week the guys over at EA Sports do a great thing. They give your team a chance to win. What they do is they simulate all of the games on Madden NFL 2008 for the week ahead. Well, I must say I am happy with the outcome of the Rams game:
Reeling after six-consecutive losses to open up the season — including a disastrous Week 6 performance against Baltimore — St. Louis put together its first complete game of the season en route to a 48-24 victory over the Seahawks in Seattle. The Rams improved to 1-6 overall and 1-2 in the NFC West, while the Seahawks fell to 3-4 and 1-2 respectively.
Rams quarterback Marc Bulger, out the past two games due to injury, exposed the Seattle defense by connecting on 25-of-37 passes for 393 yards and four touchdowns. Bulger helped push St. Louis in front in the first quarter with a 2-yard touchdown pass to veteran wide receiver Isaac Bruce. Following a 21-yard field goal by kicker Jeff Wilkins, Bulger threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Torry Holt to help the Rams jump out to a 17-0 first-quarter lead. Bulger found Holt again for a 58-yard touchdown pass to increase the score to 24-0 with 13:17 remaining in the second quarter.
The Seahawks responded with two second-quarter touchdown passes from quarterback Matt Hasselbeck — a 26-yard strike to wide receiver Bobby Engram and a 12-yard lob to running back Shaun Alexander — but the Rams’ lead proved to be too much to overcome for Seattle. St. Louis added three touchdowns after halftime on a Drew Bennett 13-yard catch from Bulger, a Brian Leonard 2-yard run, and an Adam Carricker 16-yard fumble return. Leonard led all rushers with 101 yards on the day.
Man, isn’t that awesome? Plus, they even give you a stat table to go along with the game. Its really great!
