Each week we are going to bring you the latest in NFC West news. Find out how well the St. Louis Rams are doing against their competition. I will provide you with links to my favorite stories of those teams from our lead bloggers as well as notes from around the internet.

Arizona Cardinals – Scott had a nice report from Cardinals Fan Fest. For only being one week into camp, several skill players looked particulary sharp. WR Larry Fitzgerald made a couple of nice catches in the end zone, much to the joy of the fans. WR Steve Breaston also made a couple of nice grabs. Both QB’s Matt Leinart and Kurt Warner had some nice touches on their throws. I can tell you is was nice enough to keep the crowd excited and cheering as if there was something on the line on Saturday.

NFL.com reported Anquan Boldin to have precautionary MRI on sore right hamstring.

Arizona Daily Sun reported Al Johnson underwent surgery Friday morning to clean out his left knee.

Cardinals joke:

Little Boy: Dad, what does 1-1 stand for?

Father: Well son, that’s the lifetime playoff record of the Arizona Cardinals

Little Boy: Gee Dad, they won half their games, they must pretty good, huh?

Father: Not exactly son, not exactly…

San Francisco 49ersNinernoise provided a great San Francisco 49ers training camp update, including.

Offensive coordinator Mike Martz will be calling plays from the press box this season. “It’s the most effective spot for me,” he said. “With Ted coaching the quarterbacks, we’ve got plenty of guys on the sideline.”

In other Niner news Fred Dean was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend. In addition J.T. O’Sullivan is getting more reps at camp, is Shaun Hill or Alex Smith‘s job in jeopardy? You never know what Martz will do with his QB situations, however none of these 3 will get the job done with the Niners current receiving core.

Seattle SeahawksAccording to the AP wire – The Seahawks have announced rookie defensive tackle Red Bryant is having knee surgery and will miss at least a month. The Seahawks have had a number of injuries recently. Starting defensive tackle Rocky Bernard had surgery for a double hernia. Fellow starter Marcus Tubbs had knee surgery.

As usual the NFC West has a lot of issues heading into the 2008 NFL season.
