Why Rams Fans Are Not Klopping

The St. Louis Rams were leading the Seattle Seahawks 17-7 late in the first half Sunday at the Edward Jones Dome when Joe Klopfenstein caught a short pass from Marc Bulger and headed up the sideline. In fine Rams 2008 fashion Joe was hit by Julian Peterson and he fumbled. The fumble was recovered by Marcus Trufant and that was basically the end of the Rams offense for the day.

The biggest disappointment about this was that after the game Jim Haslett threw Joe Klopfenstein under the bus. Haslett cited Joe’s fumble before half time as the pivotal play because they should have been up 24 or 30 to 3 at half time. Well Jim I have some news for you. You are a joke and always looking for a way out, and a way to make yourself look good. One week the game is Josh Brown’s fault the next it is Klopfensteins fault. When is it going to be your fault? The defense is 31st in points allowed is that your fault? The Rams have lost eight straight games is that your fault? You were up 17-7 at half time against one of the worst teams in the NFL. You had another 33+ minutes to play after that fumble. The Rams had only 4 first downs in the second half, managing just 99 yards of offense and 3 additional points. Whose fault is that? It sure is not your fault is it Jim?

My last point will be that Haslett has promised changes and that he will pull people out that are not playing well. Well why is Klopfenstein an active player on game day? Klopfenstein has 9 catches this year and only 31 in his three year career since being drafted in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams. The Rams are not happy with Klopfenstein and he is not a good blocker so why does he dress and play every week? The Rams picked Randy McMichael, Anthony Becht, and Daniel Fells and yet Klopfenstein plays every week. Why? Haslett pull the weeks, cut the dead weight don’t whine about it. YOU are the reason the fumble happened, because you continue to play a player that you have no faith in. Quit talking and start working.
