Rams Trade Will Witherspoon. WHA?!?

I love betting on sports online. Unfortunately for me, I'm down since I started my online gambling journey but I've been on the upswing. Here is one thing I have learnt in my online betting experiences. Do your research! Find out whos injured, not 100% healthy, home team, away team, etc. Once you have the facts place a bet!

First Bruce, Holt and Pace. Now Witherspoon for a rookie WR picked in the 6th round of this years draft along with a future 5th round pick. The Rams are jettisoning salary for the impending sale of the team and the Spagster and Devaney aren't close to turning anything around....or showing much of an effort!

This trade, to me, shows that this team just does not care what is going on. Witherspoon WAS, unfortunately, one of the strongest players we had on the team. For a defense that, though improved, can not stop the opposing team, trading away a player that is good makes no sense to me. Damn the money issues, he was invaluable and will sorely be missed. We need receivers, I agree, but not at the expense of losing one of the best players we have. The defense is already hurting, and we get rid of a healthy player for what? If it's less than a 2nd round pick, I swear I am revoking my fan status. Tye Hill, stupid move and Witherspoon is along the same lines in my opinion.

Initially my reaction was much like yours; however, upon further review, I am warming up to this trade the more I delve into it. Namely, Gibson had a monster junior year and would have been at least a 3rd pick had he come out. Plus,factor in that he was very impressive in Philly's trainig camp and this deal has value written all over it. Plus, consider that 'Spoon hadn't really done much this year and he's slated to a pull about $4-5 million in salary next year,and the case could be made that he was going to be cut this offseason anyway.

At any rate, those are my thoughts as of today.
