The Steven Jackson injury saga continued on Thursday when the player and Coach Spags addressed his situation after practice. Jackson still refuses to rule himself out for Monday night’s game while he recovers from his quad injury, and Spags is starting to get on board with the idea that he could possibly have his running back this week. ““Other than he, it’s just all rehab. He was in the pool. He’s trying to fight through it. We’ll see where he is at the end of the week, really is what it comes down to. He’s the only guy that knows. We’ll see. It’s a day-by-day thing. He’ll tell you here in a little bit where he thinks he’s at.”

This is a little bit of a different statement that Spags made earlier in the week, but let’s not get our hopes up too much. I’d say his chances of playing on Monday night are slim to none, and SJ39’s quotes make me believe that slim might be on his way out of the building. ““It’s all predicated on how I feel on Monday. We’re definitely shooting to have an outside chance to be able to go on Monday. We all know this kind of injury you just…the rest is the thing that’s going to be the…and luckily we buy an extra day with the Monday night game. We want to be smart. We know it’s early in the season and we feel we will be a 100 percent to weigh in on Baltimore. We have to weigh that option.” More after the page break…
