While most fans are tired of the irrelevant games by week two, most are so football hungry that the first preseason game of the new year is a historic marking on their calendar, highlighting the “true” beginning of the NFL season. For the St. Louis Rams, the four peliminary games may be exceedingly important in validating any progression by our second-year players and rookie class. For an example of that, at this point, and in most cases over the last half-decade, no one knows who will be starting at wide receiver on the outside. Other questions at that point might be “How will the new offensive line hold up against actual NFL competition?” or “Who will be getting the bulk of carries as the starting running back?”  While we will not know the answer to those questions until August; but we do, at least, know who they will be answer against.

Today, the NFL released the 2014 NFL Preseason Schedule. Here is who the St. Louis Rams will play:

Week 1 – St. Louis Rams @ Cleveland Browns

Week 2 – Green Bay Packers @ St. Louis Rams

Week 3 – St. Louis Rams @ Denver Broncos (CBS)

Week 4- Baltimore Ravens @ St. Louis Rams
