Can you believe it? We are almost halfway through the 2013 season already. It seems like ti just started a couple weeks ago. A lot of action this week in the Deacon Jones Award sweepstakes as the Kansas City Chiefs pulled out 10 sacks alone against the Raiders. Robert Quinn is still in the mix however. Here’s the top ten after six weeks:

T1. IND LB Robert Mathis- 9.5

T1. KC LB Justin Houston- 9.5

3. BUF DE Mario Williams- 8

4. KC LB Tamba Hali- 7.5

5. BAL LB Terrell Suggs- 7.0

6. STL DE Robert Quinn- 6.0

7. DEN LB Shaun Phillips- 5.5

T8. DAL DT Jason Hatcher- 5.0

T8. BAL LB Elvis Dumervil- 5.0

T8. NO DE Cameron Jordan- 5.0

T8. WAS LB Ryan Kerrigan- 5.0

T8. NYJ DE Muhammad Wilkerson- 5.0

Still a tight race after six weeks. Justin Houston once again showing up at the top of the list. You have to think at this point in the season, he is a favorite to pull it out, especially with him consistently being at the top. If it’s one thing we’ver learned however in this competition is that it only takes one week to really shake things up. It is only week six and there is a lot season left to be played and a lot of time left for someone to make a leap in the Deacon Jones Award competition.
