We have almost reached the midway point in the 2013 NFL season and for the first time in quite awhile we have some movement in the standings as we have a new leader. The NFL decided to honor former Rams defensive end by naming the sack award after him and we at Ramblin fan have been keeping track of the top ten every week. Here are the Deacon Jones Award Standing after week 7.

1. IND LB Robert Mathis- 11.5

T2. BUF DE Mario Williams- 10.0

T2. KC LB Justin Houston- 10.0

4. KC LB Tamba Hali- 9.0

5. BAL LB Terrell Suggs- 8.0

6. STL DE Robert Quinn- 7.0

T7. DEN LB Shaun Phillips- 6.5

T7. NE DE Chandler Jones- 6.5

T9. DAL DT Jason Hatcher- 6.0

T9. NYJ DE Muhammad Wilkerson- 6.0

Those are the standings for the Deacon Jones Award  after seven weeks and Robert Quinn continues to represent the Rams on the list. Quinn is still be in the mix with seven sacks on the season. There’s still a lot of season left however and as you can see a lot can change in just one week’s time. There is still half the season left to be played and you never know, a player may just come out of nowhere and get their name on the list.
