Robert Mathis held serve this week in the Deacon Jones Award standings, but Robert Quinn made a huge jump, recording three sacks on Monday night and moving up within 2 sacks of Mathis. Here is the week 8 sack standings for the Deacon Jones Award.

1. IND LB Robert Mathis- 11.5

T2. BUF DE Mario Williams- 11.0

T2. KC LB Justin Houston- 11.0

4. STL DE Robert Quinn- 10.0

5. KC LB Tamba Hali- 9.0

6. BAL LB Terrell Suggs- 8.0

T7. DAL DE Jason Hatcher- 7.0

T7. NYJ DE Muhammad Wilkerson- 7.0

T9. DEN LB Shaun Phillips- 6.5

T9. NE DE Chandler Jones- 6.5

T9. WAS LB Ryan Kerrigan- 6.5

Robert Quinn proves once again that it only takes one week to get right back in the race. Quinn looked as if he had fizzled out after having an early lead, but with a three sack performance he has shown some life.

After eight games and half the season however, it is Robert Mathis who would walk away with the Deacon Jones award. There is still a lot of football left to be played however, and there is no telling what could happen.
