The Rams were up 23-16 and Steve McNair had lead the Titans all the way down the field on a potential game winning drive. McNair dropped back to throw and threw the ball to Kevin Dyson who got tackled at the one yard line by linebacker Mike Jones to clinch the victory.

Back then Jeff Fisher was the Titans head coach and on Sunday Jeff Fisher will be playing his old team. Fisher coached for the Titans for 16 years and went 150-131 in that time period while taking the Titans to the playoffs  six different times and the Super Bowl once, ironically losing to his current team, the Rams.

This game will be played on CBS on channel 705 on DIRECTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket or you can catch the game later on NFL.com’s game rewind. You can also listen to the game live on NFL.com’s audio pass.

The Rams come into the game at 3-5 having just given the Seattle Seahawks a run for their money in Monday Night Football. The Rams defense played great and rookie running back Zac Stacy certainly impressed.

The Titans on the other hand are coming off of a bye. Jake Locker had been dealing with an injury, but the extra week has given him time to heal, therefore he should be at around full strength. Locker has been quite impressive this season as has the Titans defense.

Players to Watch: Jake Locker and Kellen Clemons

This is going to be a very had fought defensive game. Whichever quarterback can make the throws, helps his team win, and doesn’t make any costly mistakes will be the quarterback that wins this game. Locker is coming off of an injury and Clemons is starting his second game of the season.

Matchup To Watch: Titans Receivers vs Rams Secondary

The Rams are going to have to obviously focus on stopping Chris Johnson. Johnson hasn’t had the stats that he has had in recent years, but the talent is still there.

If the Rams defense can play against the run like they did last week and make Jake Locker beat them through the air, you have to like the Rams’ chances. If the Rams secondary can win their battle, the Rams should be able to come out with the win on Sunday.

Last Meeting: Titans 47 Rams 7

The last time these two teams played Jeff Fisher was still coaching the Titans and they had their way with the helpless Rams. Chris Johnson rushed for nearly 120 yards and had three touchdowns. The Rams lone touchdown came in the 4th quarter on a pass from Keith Null to Randy McMichael.

Prediction Rams 16 Titans 13

I think this is going to be a very defensive game and both offenses will struggle to move the ball. The Rams defense helps the offense out and the offense comes up big when it matters. Rams move to 4-5 and stay alive in the playoff hunt.
