Since Quarterback Sam Bradford’s injury, there was doubting the Rams were significantly wounded. Despite the record saying 3-6, the Rams have actually been a serious contender in the previous two weeks, against the strong Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans. This week, the Rams face another NFL powerhouse in the Indianapolis Colts who are currently sitting on an impressive 6-2 record.

DOs

  • Blitz Andrew Luck. The Rams secondary have really been exposed this year, while the Rams front four have yet again flourished. If Luck has the time in the pocket he will most certainly take a shot down field, but when blitzed, he quickly decides to scramble merely hoping for a wide receiver to break free. You are reminded more often that Luck is only in his second year when he is blitzed.
  • Run, Run, Run. One of many things to be excited for in the future is rookie Running Back Zac Stacy. This guy runs with grunt, flair and attitude, whilst still being able to be patient to find running lanes. Stacy could be offensive rookie of the year.
  • Take some risks. Overall the Colts are the stronger side, especially since Sam Bradford’s out for the season. The Rams will not get the win if they play ‘expected football’. Jeff Fisher is notoriously known for taking risks when unexpected. The Rams must take a few shots on special teams and 4th down conversions.

DONT’s

  • Do not play with less interest. The Rams record is a disappointing 3-6 and looking more likely that they will not make the playoffs again. But the fact that the Rams chances of making the playoffs are slim, shouldn’t affect the intensity of the players going into a game. Being the youngest team in the NFL, it will be interesting to see how much effort is put towards each game.
