After a couple of quiet weeks from St. Louis Rams defensive end, Robert Quinn, he got things going again against the Saints recording two sacks and making the final two weeks of the race for the Deacon Jones Award a lot more interesting. Here are the top 10 standings for the sack award:

1. IND LB Robert Mathis- 16.5

2. STL DE Robert Quinn- 15.0

3. BUF DL Mario Williams- 12.0

T4. ARI LB John Abraham- 11.5

T4. NE DE Cameron Jordan- 11.5

T4. NE DE Chandler Jones- 11.5

T4. MIA DE Olivier Vernon- 11.5

T8. KC LB Tamba Hali- 11.0

T8. KC LB Justin Houston- 11.0

10. TEN DT Jurell Casey- 10.5

With two weeks left to go, Robert Quinn is only a sack and a half away from the award. Quinn is already in the conversation for defensive player of the year. Certainly if he were to not only lead the NFC in sacks, but the NFL, he would cement his spot as the defensive player of the year.

This week the Rams play the Buccaneers who have given up the ninth most sacks this season with 38. Last year when these two teams met, Quinn failed to register a sack, but he is a totally different animal this season. That isn’t to mention the Rams are at home this time, a place where Quinn has registered 10 of his 15 sacks this season.
