What most Rams fans had hoped for at the beginning of the season at this point almost seems inevitable to happen. A St. Louis Ram, fittingly, will more than likely win the Deacon Jones Award in its debut year.

Robert Quinn had one of his many dominant performances this season against the Buccaneers and recorded three sacks in the process jumping ahead of Robert Mathis who recorded none. Headed into the final week here are the top 10 in the race for the Deacon Jones Award.

1. STL DE Robert Quinn- 18.0

2. IND LB Robert Mathis- 16.5

3. BUF DL Mario Williams- 13.0

4. NO DE Cameron Jordan- 12.5

T5. ARI LB John Abraham- 11.5

T5. NE DE Chandler Jones- 11.5

T5. MIA DE Olivier Vernon- 11.5

T8. KC LB Tamba Hali- 11.0

T8. CAR DE Greg Hardy- 11.0

T8. KC LB Justin Houston- 11.0

Going into the final week, Quinn will have a 1.5 sack lead over Mathis. Quinn and the Rams go up against the Seahawks, who the Rams have had decent success against in terms of getting to the quarterback, while the Colts will go up against the Jaguars.

We also can’t forget to mention that with 18 sacks on the season, Quinn also broke the Rams franchise record for most sacks in a season which was previously held by Kevin Carter who had 17. Congratulations Robert Quinn!
