The Rams got out to a shocking 21-7 halftime lead over the visiting Dallas Cowboys last Sunday. But all too predictably, the Rams allowed a second half comeback that cost them the game. They have now gone 1-2 through their first three games, which were deemed by many to be “must wins.” Here is Ramblin’ Fan’s breakdown of the 2014 rookie class after week three of the regular season:

Greg Robinson: EVEN

Robinson was benched again in favor of G Rodger Saffold. This year seems to be a development year for the number-two-overall pick.

Aaron Donald: Stock UP

Donald had another positive showing while rotating in on the defensive line. He finished with one tackle, which went for a loss. On that play, Donald fought through the line and swallowed up RB Demarco Murray five yards in the backfield. His numbers for the game are misleading because he stuffed running lanes several times which allowed his teammates to make plays.

Lamarcus Joyner: EVEN

Joyner totaled two tackles against the Cowboys. His big mistake was committing pass interference on a deep throw downfield to WR Cole Beasley that resulted in a 27 yard penalty. Other than that penalty, Joyner had a solid outing.

Tre Mason: Stock DOWN

Mason was inactive for the game. Undrafted rookie Trey Watts saw his first action of the season and performed well. Mason is now clearly at the bottom of the running back rotation.

Mo Alexander: EVEN

Inactive. S Cody Davis saw some action in a backup role behind S Rodney McCleod.

E.J. Gaines: EVEN

Gaines started on the outside again while CB Trumaine Johnson recovers from his injury. Gaines was rarely thrown at and he did not register any tackles. All in all a pretty quiet night for the rookie corner.

Trey Watts: Stock UP

Watts saw quite a bit of action as he worked into the running back committee. Watts carried five times for 24 yards. By comparison, RB Zac Stacy carries 12 times and RB Benny Cunningham ran nine times. Watts also registered a tackle on special teams.

Ethan Westbrooks: EVEN

Similar to last week, Westbrooks worked in the defensive line rotation. He registered two tackles.

Alex Bayer: EVEN

Inactive.

Marcus Roberson: EVEN

Roberson handled special teams duties but did not register any statistics.

Check back after the Rams play the Eagles on October 5.
