Tomorrow, the St. Louis Rams will play their last game of the regular season against the Seattle Seahawks. While it is true that the Rams were virtually eliminated from the playoffs several weeks ago following their loss to the Arizona Cardinals, it doesn’t mean that this game doesn’t hold some significance. On a sentimental note, St. Louis could finish close to a non-losing record for the first time since 2006, when Scott Linehan was the head coach, Marc Bulger was the quarterback, and Georgia Frontiere still owned the team. However, the final result of the game is far from meaningless to the rest of the league. In fact, the winner of the week Week 17 matchup between the St. Louis Rams and the Seattle Seahawks could very well determine who comes out of the NFC to playing in Arizona for the Super Bowl. How? With a win on Sunday, the Seahawks will clinch home field advantage throughout the playoffs; an arena where Seattle has only lost two games over the last two seasons, including postseason matchups.

Obviously, that is more than enough reason for local fans, and NFL fans across the nation, for that matter, to get excited for the matchup on Sunday. Well, apparently that is not good enough for one local news station, who has turned their back on the local franchise and their fans. FOX 5 in Springfield, who have the privilege of airing the St. Louis Rams game to thousands of residents in Missouri, has announced that instead of supporting their local fans base, they have, instead, chosen to show the Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions game on Sunday.

Many fans have taken to social media to express their outrage, starting a small “movement” against the local new station turning its back on the local fan base.

Best of luck to the St. Louis Rams… and to the local news stations that actually support their local fans and teams.
