Aaron Donald is the best Defensive Tackle in the NFL

Aaron Donald is fresh off of his freshman campaign in the NFL and has already made his name known. When it comes to defensive presence, Donald is the LeBron James of the NFL.

As a rookie, Donald compiled 9.0 sacks, forced two fumbles, while adding 47 tackles and 10 assists.

That is above average for a pass rusher in the NFL. but, Donald isn’t even a quote on quote pass rusher. He is a defensive tackle. He is the meat and potatoes on a defensive line. And after doing some research on him, Donald likes his quarterbacks with a little gravy on the side.

In a division known for fast paced offenses, Donald put up huge numbers. Against the Seattle Seahawks, Donald sacked Russell Wilson twice and Colin Kaepernick once.

Donald also added Peyton Manning, Phillip Rivers and Robert Griffin III to his list of prey in 2014.

When someone asks you to name a defensive tackle in the NFL, who is the first name that comes to mind? I’d bet you would say Ndamukong Suh.

But why does everyone think of Suh? Mainly because Suh has made a name for himself via penalties and fines. Suh is nothing more than your modern-day Ron Artest, or Metta World Peace I should say. Suh walks out on the field, gets a sack every once in a while and by the end of the game leaves you thinking, “man I wonder how much he will get fined this time.”

Donald already has little to no competition against him. Donald won the defensive rookie of the year award as well as being named to the 2014 pro bowl. Who does that?

Marcell Dareus was the only defensive tackle in the NFL to have more sacks than Donald in 2014 with 10.0.

Congratulations Dareus, you beat out a rookie by one sack who didn’t even lead his team in that category. Who knows how many sacks Donald would have accumulated if not for a man named Robert Quinn.

Donald was rated as the number 92 player in the NFL by players alike. Not too shabby for one season of work in the NFL. Now I expect two, maybe three other defensive tackles to hear their names called as the top 100 players of 2015 rolls on throughout the week but just remember this. When Donald is breathing down your neck and drives you six inches into the ground, you better give him a nod and rank him as a top 20 player in next years top NFL players list.

@AD_99 doesn’t mess around, and the city he was raised in depicts him perfectly. Made of steel.
