Offense Hits New Low For Los Angeles Rams in Loss to New England Patriots
By Dan Parzych
Once again, the offense of the Los Angeles Rams showed in Week 13 why they’ve ranked near the bottom of the league all season.
Between being shutout opening weekend to winning two games without scoring a single touchdown, the offense of the Los Angeles Rams has seen plenty of low points throughout the 2016 season. However, the argument can be made that nothing tops what happened on the road in Week 13 against the New England Patriots.

With all due respect to the Rams, nobody was giving them much of a chance in Foxborough against the Patriots when considering how much of a mismatch this was on paper. For a team with a terrible offense like Los Angeles squaring off against an offense led by a future Hall of Famer in Tom Brady, this game had blowout written all over it.
Believe it or not, the Rams found a way to actually keep it close thanks to the defense holding the Patriots to only finding the end zone twice, but once again it was the offense that failed to do their part.
Not only did Los Angeles hit a new low by only recording 25 yards on offense in the first half, but it took until the final minutes of the game before Jared Goff and company finally found the end zone for the first time. What’s even more frustrating is the Rams should consider themselves lucky for even scoring a touchdown in the first place when considering Goff found Kenny Britt for a 66-yard catch on a 4th and 11 before finding the wideout for the score on the very next play.
Goff received plenty of criticism for the way he performed for Los Angeles during the preseason, and if there’s anything to take away from his first three starts, it would be there’s only so much the rookie can do on his own. From Britt to Brian Quick, there were numerous times throughout Sunday’s games in which Goff’s teammates let him down by dropping easy passes.
It was no secret at the beginning of the season the offense would be a work in progress for 2016, but the Rams seem to have taken a step back when compared to last year. After Sunday’s loss to New England, it’s clear Los Angeles still has a long way to go when it comes to improving their offense.
