For the second time this season, the Los Angeles Rams came up on the losing end against the San Francisco 49ers

Wins have come rare for the Los Angeles Rams during the 2016 season as the team entered Saturday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers losing nine of their last 10 games. Unfortunately, the Rams couldn’t take advantage of a favorable matchup to give Jared Goff his first career win as an NFL starter after falling to the 49ers 22-21.

Not many quarterbacks are going to win games when throwing for less than 100 yards as Goff struggled throughout the afternoon after completing just 11 of 24 passes for 90 yards to go along with a touchdown and two interceptions. For the most part, Goff has been receiving the benefit of the doubt for Los Angeles providing him with a lack of weapons in the passing game, but to see these kind of numbers against a team like San Francisco is simply embarrassing for any quarterback.

Despite holding a lead for a majority of the game, the Rams allowed the 49ers to rally in the fourth quarter thanks to Colin Kaepernick‘s two touchdowns (one on the ground and one through the air) before the gutsy decision to go for the two-point conversion to win it. When seeing how meaningless this game was other than draft order, it really wasn’t a surprise to see Chip Kelly go for the win instead of forcing overtime as the head coach has been desperate for his second win of the season.

On a positive note, at least Kenny Britt was able to to achieve a milestone by giving the Rams their first 1,000-yard receiver since 2007 (Torry Holt). In fact, this marked the first time in the wide receiver’s career he managed to break the mark, which is crazy to think about.

Either way, it still doesn’t help ease the pain of watching Los Angeles lose the way they did to San Francisco as the Rams have been the only team the 49ers have been able to beat all season, and they have now found a way to do so twice.
