In a recent article projecting potential first-time Pro Bowlers, Cooper Kupp took home the honors for the Los Angeles Rams.

After Jared Goff failed to win a single game as a rookie, the Los Angeles Rams made it a top priority to build a better offense around their young quarterback heading into the 2017 season since that was the only way they would get the best from the former No. 1 pick.

While the free agency period was highlighted by the signing of an underrated wide receiver in Robert Woods, the Rams were hoping to strike gold in the NFL Draft by selecting Cooper Kupp in the third round, which they did.

Selecting players from smaller schools can always seem like a risk, but when seeing the numbers Kupp put together at Eastern Washington, they felt confident he would be worth the selection in the third round.

Think about it, how many receivers in the NFL are capable of catching 428 passes for 6,464 yards to go along with 73 touchdowns in their college career like Kupp?

Clearly, these kind of numbers were too good for Los Angeles to pass on, and when seeing how Kupp was able to haul in 62 passes for 869 yards to go along with five trips into the end zone as a rookie, selecting him was well worth it.

Based off his production as a rookie, there’s every reason to believe Kupp will top those numbers during his sophomore campaign, especially since he’ll have more chances to see the football with Tavon Austin out of the picture. Not to mention, Kupp could see additional passes thrown in his direction with opposing defenses focusing on the whereabouts of Woods and Brandin Cooks.

Recently, Gil Brandt of NFL.com conducted a list projecting a potential first-time Pro Bowler from each team for the 2018 season, and in what shouldn’t seem like a surprise at all, Kupp’s name was selected for the Rams.

This may seem like a long shot at the moment when looking at all of the other talented receivers in the NFC Kupp will have to compete against, but also let’s not forget how much the youngster looked like a veteran instead of a rookie at times in 2017.

So when it comes to which players from Brandt’s list have the best chance of coming through to earn a trip to the Pro Bowl for the first time, Kupp has to love his odds heading into his second NFL season.
