The Los Angeles Rams face an NFL season without veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp for the first time in the tenure of Head Coach Sean McVay. That changes the dynamics of the offense, which in turn changes almost everything about this team. And it's never easy for a team that won in a particular style and strategy to swap out parts and roar back to championship football. That is what the Rams are aiming at in 2025.

To get a solid take on the upcoming 2025 NFL season, the Rams Between the Horns regathered podcaster hosts J.B. Long, D'Marco Farr, and Maurice Jones-Drew. And this podcast is worth revisiting several times before the 2025 NFL season. That's the plan in this one, and after you can view the video, we'll revisit the highlights.

2:30 - Farewell Cooper Kupp
9:21 - Story of Rams free agency
13:04 - Future beyond Matthew Stafford

Each segment of the Between the Horns podcast is worth a separate slide. The overall aspect of the podcast has an underlying theme of a team that is changing but maturing. The Rams' moves throughout the offseason have been turning the page at wide receiver to create a new perspective. The team has several subtle changes coming up in the 2023 NFL season. If the Rams had to start today, their starting offense is set. The current Rams Depth chart looks like:

  • WR - Puka Nacua - Jordan Whittington
  • SWR - Tutu Atwell | Xavier Smith | Drake Stoops
  • LT - Alaric Jackson | A.J. Arcuri
  • LG - Steve Avila | Justin Dedich
  • C - Brian Allen | Beaux Limmer | Dylan McMahon
  • RG - Kevin Dotson | K.T. Leveston
  • RT - Rob Havenstein | Warren McClendon Jr.
  • TE - Tyler Higbee | Colby Parkinson | Davis Allen
  • WR - Davante Adams | Quintez Cephus
  • QB - Matthew Stafford | Jimmy Garoppolo | Stetson Bennett
  • RB - Kyren Williams | Blake Corum | Ronnie Rivers | Cody Schrader

With a glance at the above Rams depth chart, the places to address the team in the draft start to appear obvious. The Rams need a solid successor for veteran WR Davante Adams' role. The team can benefit from depth at tight end, offensive tackle, and if a quality running back with speed is available. But the Rams need to be patient as well.

Even this early, the group cites the likelihood of the Rams trading back is mentioned. I'm about one in three chances on trading back at the moment, but that could increase or decrease significantly based on who is left on the draft board. The Rams would love to align their picks with the strength of this draft class, which places the best value mid-Round 2 through Round 5.

The LA Rams are certainly not done yet. With the team in line for a solid draft, the best could very likely be yet to come. As always, thanks for reading.
