Rams Review: Preseason Week 4

facebooktwitterreddit

Last night at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Missouri the Rams took home the governor’s cup with 10-3 exhibition win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Ryan Kitzpatrick sealed the deal in the third quarter with a 20 yard touchdown pass to Marques Hagans that put St. Louis up 10-0 on the scoreboard.

The Rams wrap up their 2007 preseason with a 2-2 record and get ready to head into the 2007 regular season opener against the Carolina Panthers. Fitzpatrick was a big part of this game for St. Louis, going 12 for 18 and passing for 105 yards including that 20 yarder to Hagans in the third. Hagans, second year player picked in the fifth round of last year’s draft is hoping to win a receiver role on the starting staff.

"“At least I know I went out and gave it my all,” Hagans said. “I left it all on the field. Whatever happens after that is meant to be.”"

Justin Medlock gave the Chiefs their only points with a 40 yard field goal late in the game.

To asses the play of this offense in the preseason, they were only able to score 46 points in the four exhibition weeks leading up to the start of the regular year.

"“I think that’s how everyone kind of does it now,” said backup quarterback Gus Frerotte, who got the start. “The first game, you always get yourself ready to go and everyone on the team will be prepared mentally and physically.”"

In the coming days, expect an offensive preview of the Rams and some opening day coverage as well.
