Rams Review Week 4- Ramshackled: What else is new?

Yesterday, in a game that should have been exactly what it was, the St. Louis Rams saw their season go bye bye in a 35-7 loss in Dallas against the Cowboys. We couldn’t have played any worse and at this point, the season is lost. Every single part of the team couldn’t have done worse as both the offense and the defense floundered.

As for the offense, Marc Bulger did absolutely horrific in this game. What a surprise. With two broken ribs, Scott Linehan still said Bulger was the starter. Backup Gus Frerotte did come in mid way through the game. St. Louis has now gone 30 straight drives without scoring a touchdown. The team is in shambles after Isaac Bruce, who guaranteed a victory, suffered an injury. Other notable injuries were to linebackers Corey Chavous and Roonall Smith on the defensive side of the ball. Details of these injuries have not yet been disclosed.

Bulger went 11 for 24 with barely over 100 passing yards. It was by far one of his worst outings ever. It makes sense to me that this would happen to a team like this, considering we don’t have a very dependable running back we can rely on. Brian Leonard gained 58 yards on 16 carries. Bulger also threw an interception. We only had one score in this game as Dante Hall showed the only bright spot for us late in the second quarter with a kick return for a touchdown.

I really thought the defense played well in the first half as it was only 14-7 Cowboys at the half. But after that, Tony Romo got things going and Dallas made it impossible for us to have a chance. We need to take a long look at what lies ahead because right now there is no chance for this team. Every unit is banged up with injuries, and that causes the rest of the team to suffer. We just have to live with what we have right now and hope for the best. As a Rams fan, I don’t really remember a time when things were this bad for us.
