Rams vs. Redskins Preview
By Ethan Novak
While the Rams are coming off a 28-0 loss, the Redskins enter the game following a tough 23-17 loss to the NY Giants. Last year, these two teams played an incredible game that ended with a game-winning field goal kick by the Rams’ Josh Brown. This year, the Rams are going to need an absolute 180 degree turnaround if they want to beat the ‘Skins. Here are the following things to watch for:
- Can the Rams establish a ground game?: Last week Steven Jackson had a couple of good carries, but overall he struggled to really establish himself as a go to guy in terms of picking up solid yards. If he is able to lower his shoulder and throw a few more big hits this weekend, the Rams just might be able to start establishing the pieces of their offense.
- Can Marc Bulger get the passing game going?: Coming off a three week absence due to a broken pinky, I’m going to let Bulger’s performance last week slide. He obviously lacked much of a rhythm and struggled to get the offense moving.
- Can the Defense Continue to Create Turnovers: The defense made several big plays last week. Ultimately, the defense was on the field for far too long and they ran out of gas. If the playmakers can continue to create turnovers, this could turn out to be a great defense.
