Rams Show Promise In Loss To Redskins
By Ethan Novak
The St. Louis Rams nearly pulled out a win in Washington today, but a crucial fumble cost them points, momentum, and possibly the game. For the second straight game WR Donnie Avery fumbled the ball, this one coming on the Redskin’s 3 yard line while the Rams were driving in for a score.
Mistakes aside, the Rams played a great game and showed a tremendous amount of promise as they drive towards a brighter future. Steven Jackson had a great game, racking up 104 yards on the ground while Laurent Robinson proved to be a great playmaker as he hauled in the Rams first touchdown of the season.
The defense also had a solid outing, keeping the Redskins out of the endzone and giving the Rams a shot to win at the end of the game by stopping Clinton Portis on a 4th and 1.
Once again penalties gave the Rams trouble on drives, but overall this team is heading in the right direction and fans are finally starting to grow excited about their future.
