Bruce In Limbo
By Justin Stine
Rams great Isaac Bruce is probably done playing. That fact is not a big surprise. What is a surprise is that the 49ers aren’t releasing his rights to allow him to sign a one-day contract with the Rams so he can retire as a member of the organization he gave so much of his life to. Bruce intends to hold a press conference at some point to announce his retirement from the game in St. Louis, but he can’t do so until he is done with San Fran. I don’t know exactly what the deal is here, but my guess is that the Niners unstable front office situation has something to do with it. I know most of us in St. Lou aren’t big fans of their organization, and I’m sure the feeling is mutual over there, but there is no way they would intentionally do this, right? Bruce is obviously going to retire as a Ram at some point, and hopefully the Niners allow that to happen sooner rather than later. He is one of the greatest players to ever wear the horns, and he deserves to go out as a member of this organization. When you talk about elite guys who don’t run their mouths and just go out and get the job done, Ike is the poster boy. I’ll never forget his touchdown catch in the Super Bowl against the Titans, and I’m sure everyone has their own memories of The Reverend. Best of luck in everything you do after this Ike, and I can’t wait to see you as a member of the Rams again. Even though it will only be for one day, you will live on forever with every fan who had the privilege to watch you play.
