Rams Still Signing Picks, Releasing Players
By Justin Stine
The Rams haven’t wasted much time getting their 2010 picks signed, as all but three are now under contract with the team. A few days ago, the Rams officially signed DE Hall Davis and WR Mardy Gilyard, whose deal is worth $2.34 million over four years. Sam Bradford, Rodger Saffold, and Fendi Onobun have yet to sign on the dotted line, but the team expects Onobun’s deal to be completed soon. I’ve talked about Bradford and Saffold already, but I still expect both to be in before training camp.
As far as the releases go, the team let go six players earlier today, as LB K.C. Asiodu, DT Leger Douzable, CB Danny Gorrer, LS Clint Mower, RB DeMaundray Woolridge, and DE James Wyche are all on their way out of St. Louis. Asiodu’s release was reported last week, but because of a sports hernia injury it took some time for the team to finalize the release. As far as the others go, I though maybe Woolridge would have a chance to compete for a roster spot at the RB position, but I have a feeling that the emergence of second-year man Chris Ogbonnaya didn’t help his chances. I thought Douzable might have some potential as well, but the team obviously thought different.
