2012 Pre-Mock Draft 1-3
With the NFL season coming near, I almost forgot to put my first mock of the next draft out. Thanks to Bleacher report I would’ve forgot about it. Thanks but no thanks because our Rams have the ninth pick, while the Seattle had the 10th, and 49ers had the 16th. Cardinals had the 3rd pick but meaning we are going to be 3rd in the NFC West. Not to criticize the post but to say we should be lower because we are the only offense in the NFC West that is playoff ready.
#1-Washington Redskins: Landry Jones -Quarterback- Oklahoma
Landry or “Lance” Jones is the successor of Sam Bradford at Oklahoma. Well he was his back up too. Might end up being the best quarterback in the draft because of reasons I’ll tell later. He can fit in Washington because he has athleticism that Shanahan likes. Remember Jay Cutler. This year they would’ve got Jake Locker but the Titans beat them to him. Lance may start because of the McNabb problems and Grossman can’t lead a team. If he does get picked here he will the 4th consecutive quarterback to go #1.
#2-Cincinati Bengals: Matt Kalil-Offensive Tackle- USC
Carson doesn’t want to come back and Ochocinco might get traded. So the Bengals drafted a receiver and a quarterback in the first and second rounds. That is good but they are young. They will need time around each other before they are playoff contenders or division. This season they might go 2-14 or worse who knows. So to make that offense younger they should start on their line. Not saying anything wrong with it. Just that is a way you rebuild your offense. Also after this draft we can take the Bungles name off because they will be an elite team.
#3-Carolina Panthers: Alshon Jeffery-Wide Receiver- South Carolina
After drafting a quarterback with number one they will need a wide receiver. Steve Smith might not return even if he does, they will need another receiver. I actually watched Alshon once and he did very well in that game. He caught 88 passes for 1,517 and 9 touchdowns. That’s what good sophomores do and his stock will stay high unless he does something stupid like Nick Fairly did.
