Laurinaitis Hurt, Amendola Fights At Rams Camp
By Justin Stine
The Rams were back in action on the practice field Wednesday, but not everyone was able to participate. Most notable by his absence was MLB James Laurinaitis, who was sidelined again with a strained pectoral. Have no fear, however, because reports are that the injury is minor and that James is day-to-day. He is one guy we can’t afford to lose, so let’s just get him healthy and ready for the regular season. Other players to miss Wednesday included: wide receiver Donnie Avery (hamstring), cornerback Ron Bartell (thigh), defensive tackle Jermelle Cudjo (back), defensive end James Hall (hip), tight end Michael Hoomanawanui (concussion), wide receiver Greg Salas (hamstring) and linebacker David Vobora (concussion).
In other Wednesday camp news, WR Danny Amendola got into a “fight” on the field with rookie DB Mikail Baker. This wasn’t a 12-round championship bout by any means, but the two players did get pretty heated during practice. These things happen, especially early in camp when guys are still getting to know each other, so nothing to be concerned about. I don’t know if picking a fight with a vet like Amendola is the smartest move for a rookie like Baker, but this looks like a non-issue for now.
Just a reminder for those of you who have been in attendance at camp that Thursday’s session is closed to the public. So, if you were planning on heading over, you will have to wait until 2:30 on Friday.
