Darryn’s take on Gilyard, Thaddeus vs. AJ, Pettis, and #21…

Ok I took alot of heat last week via emails and twitter when I mentioned that Pettis has penguin arms and needs to be cut. Today I must admit that I feel THE SAME WAY. Get rid of Pettis. I think it’s a definite maybe that he will grow into a decent NFL receiver in a couple years, but do the Rams want to hold his hand til he arrives? Heck no. This is the NFL and I don’t believe in holding any hands. I will admit that my take on Gilyard now vs. the end of last year has taken a 180 degree turn. Last year I along with many Rams fans were completely frustrated with him and his effort, or lack thereof. At this point, he has shown me something. He seems to have studied the playbook a bit more, I see effort in his routes & pass-catching, and I see a bit of a threat starting to mount in his special teams game. I think he has worked a bit harder this year and deserves a shot. Ok, I love AJ Feely but how apparent is it that he is definitely a career backup QB. I wouldn’t be 100% terrified if Bradford, God forbid, would get injured; however, AJ has for sure peaked and he would be a mediocre starter in this league. I know Thaddeus Lewis is playing against mostly 2nd and 3rd stringers, but this kid also deserves a shot. I think he has worked hard the past couple of years and he is a playmaker. And finally, why in the world does Safety #21 repeatedly get beat on pass plays and then at the last minute instead of looking and going for the ball (and possibly getting an intercepetion imagine that!) he gets flagged for pass interference. I do know the second you turn and look for the ball, the refs will let you get away with alot more. Ok, now its time for your take on Gilyard, Thaddeus, Pettis, and #21. hit me up on Twitter @DarrynOTL
