It has been a pretty depressing week for the common Rams fan. The Rams lost their starting quarterback and the season it is thought that the season is basically over and the Rams will be picking in the top 10.

Well Rams fans the next draft class is a good one and what’s better to brighten up the mood than the future of this team. Here is a top 40 big board from SI.com

That is the top 40 seven weeks into the 2013 NFL season. There are quite a few intriguing prospects and it looks like the Rams could get two of the top tier guys as it looks like their season is going downhill and the Redskins haven’t done all that great this season either.

Two guys that I think the Rams should be interested in are Jake Matthews and Sammy Watkins. The Rams will more than likely lose Rodger Saffold in the offseason and will have to replace him and who better to replace him with the son of the former Titan and ex-Jeff Fisher player, Bruce Matthews.

As for my reasoning in Sammy Watkins. The Rams are missing that offensive player that can just take over games and Sammy Watkins can be that guy. The Rams are missing a dominant  guy on the other side of  Chris Givens. The Rams have taken a lot of wide receivers in the past, but Watkins may just put an end to that.

The Rams still have a lot of time to even begin to think about the draft, but it’s good to know that they have a lot of options. Be sure to let us know who you think the Rams should be considering come April in the comment section below.
