After two very convincing wins against the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears , the St. Louis Rams find themselves right back in the playoff hunt. The next two games against the San Francisco 49ers and the Arizona Cardinals are must wins, as they are divisional games and both teams hold a two win advantage over the Rams. By all means, making the playoffs will be a massive up hill run, especially given the strength of the NFC West and the quality of teams the Rams face in the next month. But, all you can do is keep winning and this what Rams need to do, to do exactly that.

DOs

  • Give the ball to the rookies. Tavon Austin, Zac Stacy and Ben Cunningham have really proven their worth in the last month of football. Tavon Austin has been the most electric and exciting player as of late, due to his phenomenal ability to turn a short pass into a long touchdown. Zac Stacy is one of those running backs that never seem to be tackled for a loss. Stacy’s ability to run the ball, has allowed the Ram Nation to quickly forget about running backs Daryl Richardson and Isaiah Pead. Bam Bam Cunningham and Zac Stacy could be the Rams running duo for years to come.
  • Play with attitude. The one thing that has been evident in the last two wins, are the players confidence and grunt. This type of mindset for a young team is essential.

DON’Ts

  • Don’t think playoffs. When this mindset is activated, players start thinking the easiest possibilities and scenarios that can take them to the playoffs. The only way to make the playoffs is win. Period.
