NFL Draft Player Profiles: Running Backs
Charles Sims, West Virginia
The Rams drafted a couple of offensive weapons out of West Virginia last season with Tavon Austin and Stedman Bailey. There is no question that Sims could add that same sort of impact to the Rams offense.
Sims was a first-team All-Big 12 selection rushing for 1,095 yards and got into the end zone 11 times last season. He has that explosive one-cut ability and can get downhill, something that Fisher likes. He is also a weapon out receiving out of the backfield creating plays after the catch. Sims would be a great third down back that the Rams could pick up in the third or fourth round.
Although he has size at 6’0 215-lbs, he doesn’t use it making him susceptible to injuries and inability to break tackles. However, this guy has been compared to Matt Forte, and that wouldnt be such a bad thing to have in the arsenal.
*Interesting Fact
-Sims wore the number 3 at West Virginia, the same number worn by Stedman Bailey at WVU
