Final First Round Mock Draft
25. San Diego Chargers
Bradley Roby
CB, Ohio St.
The Chargers play against the best quarterback in the league twice a year, which means they need all the help they can get in the secondary. Roby can come in and be a solid number two guy or can cover the slot.
26. Cleveland Browns (from Indianapolis)
Johnny Manziel
QB, Texas A&M
Manziel may not fall this far, but if he did the Browns would be quite happy. They got the number one playmaking receiver with the number four overall pick, then picked up the number one playmaking quarterback with their 26th pick. Not a bad day one.
27. New Orleans Saints
Brandin Cooks
WR, Oregon St.
When you have Drew Brees, you don’t necessarily need a receiver, as Brees can make anyone look good, but the Saints lost there small speedy guy in Sproles when they traded him away to the Eagles and will be looking to replace that role with Cooks who will work in well with Colston and Graham.
28. Carolina Panthers
Kelvin Benjamin
WR, Florida St.
The Panthers don’t really have a number one receiver on the roster at the moment and whether or not Benjamin is that is a good question, but Newton will need somebody to throw the ball to next season.
29. New England Patriots
Carlos Hyde
RB, Ohio St.
The Patriots had problems with the running back position last season when it came to protecting the football. Hyde will give the Patriots a sold option in the run game and will give the Patriots a good one-two tandem with Ridley.
30. San Francisco 49ers
Ra’Shede Hageman
DT, Minnesota
This would be a perfect situation for Hageman. Not a spot where he would have to start right away, but could work his way into the starting lineup. 49ers add depth to an already good defensive line.
31. Denver Broncos
Xavier Su’a-Filo
OG, UCLA
Pains me to do this as I would love for the Rams to pick up Su’a-Filo in the second round, but I’m just not sure he’ll make it there. The Broncos need a guard and they need to protect the 38-year old Manning that they have under center.
32. Seattle Seahawks
Donte Moncrief
WR, Mississippi
The Seahawks lost Golden Tate in the offseason and will need someone to fill that hole. Moncrief would fit in well with the Seahawks and give Wilson a decent weapon to throw the ball to.
