Best Pick: Jimmie Ward, Carlos Hyde, Marcus Martin,
Worst Pick: Bradon Thomas
Draft Grade: A
Jimmie Ward adds to the hard-hitting safeties in the NFC West that has turned into a life or death division. Hyde will backup Gore to start, but once Gore calls it quits, Lattimire and Hyde will be quite the one-two punch. Martin is also the best center in the draft and gives the 49ers good depth at offensive line.
The worst pick here is Brandon Thomas, only because he won’t be able to contribute his first year. When you have 12 picks though, and a roster as deep as the 49ers do, you’re allowed to take those risks. The 49ers stuck to their draft board and will celebrate the rewards.
